Small But Helpful Accessories To Pick Up At Your Local Smoke Shop

Harold Larson

Most people think of smoke shops as places to buy two things: smoking material and smoking devices. Indeed, these two types of products do account for a majority of sales in most smoke shops. But if you're skipping right over all the other items and accessories in your local smoke shop, you're missing out! Here are a few small, but helpful accessories to pick up at the smoke shop.

Screens

If you smoke out of a pipe, it's definitely worth picking up a few screens. Basically, these are tiny, round pieces of stainless steel mesh. You can place them in your pipe, just across the opening at the bottom of the bowl, and they keep you from inhaling plant matter along with your smoke. Screens come in a number of sizes, but the 1/4 or 3/8 inch ones tend to work in most pipes.

Long-Neck Lighters

Do you ever struggle to light your pipe without burning your fingers, since you have to dip the lighter so deep to reach the material in the bowl? A long-neck lighter is a good solution. There are a few brands that make these, and most smoke shops carry at least one brand. They're just an ordinary, butane lighter with a long, thin extension that puts a bit more distance from your fingers and the flame.

Leather Pipe Bags

If you don't already have a bag in which you can store your pipe, then it's time to shop for one. Putting your pipe inside a bag is more discrete. Plus, if you drop a glass pipe, it is less likely to break if it's inside a bag. Leather is the ideal material since it offers some padding and also helps absorb any odors. You can find leather pipe bags tooled with all sorts of cool designs.

Glass Roaches

If you ever burn your lips while smoking the end of your self-rolled cigarette, then you need a glass roach. It's basically a little glass tube that you slide your cigarette into. It adds some separation between the cigarette and your lips in a similar way as a filter does in a store-bought cigarette. However, you can use your glass roach again and again.

These accessories may be small, but they are really helpful and can be purchased from most any smoke shop. Keep your eyes out for them the next time you visit, and bring a few of them home.

About Me
Electronic Cigarette Advice from a Veteran Vaper

While I smoked only tobacco cigarettes many years ago, I began vaping electronic cigarettes almost a decade ago. When I first started vaping, there were only a few models on the market and only a handful of companies selling e-juice. Today, there are so many models of e-cigarettes out there that I notice many new vapers get confused about which may be best for them. I have tried quite a few over the years, and I have also sampled my fair share of various e-juice flavors and vendors. I enjoy sharing my e-cigarette knowledge with people who need help, so I thought I would start a blog and post e-cigarette tips and tricks for anyone who needs them. Come back often for new tips, reviews, and advice!
